Crush Vase
During the growth of the sycamore tree, the bark will naturally fall off due to metabolism, and each tree will present a unique mottled effect. This phenomenon of aging and regeneration visually proves the vitality of the tree. In the Crush series, we reproduced the visual effect that appears in nature through the collision of two materials. Combining two different types of glazes, under the action of 1300 high temperature, the collision produces a repulsive reaction, and finally forms a bark-like texture that is easy to fall off. Due to the uncontrollability of the collision of glazes, each product has its own uniqueness and character like a tree. The easy-to-fall surface texture also makes the use of Crush a kind of re-creation. As people interact with objects, the passage of time brings a special beauty to the surface of the vase, just like the bark of the sycamore tree that naturally falls off due to metabolism. This metabolism that imitates nature seems to accelerate the "aging" of the object, but in fact it gives the object an additional "life attribute" through the "aging" visible to the naked eye.
