U-Pot Vase - Metallic
The U-shaped pot is a pocket-style piece created by Studio KAE. The parting lines deliberately retained in the ceramic mold casting suggest the sewn pockets of jeans. The soft visual perception and construction materials remind some users of the classic rubber thermos that burst. The edges of the pot are formed, expanded and cooled into a naturally soft shape during high-temperature firing. It looks like a pocket that is always open, symbolizing abundance, encouraging users to fill it with anything they have in their daily lives, such as flowers, fruits or snacks, with an open mind. Like many of Studio KAE's past designs, each U-shaped pot has the characteristic of "having its own personality". Differences in temperature, humidity and other conditions during the firing process provide each U-shaped pot with a unique curved shape.
